Asset Based Community Development

Asset Based Community Development — ABCD — is a place-based community development framework. Its foundation is based on the assumption that strong, safe, and healthy communities are built on the strengths and capacities of their residents and associations that call the community home.

ABCD proponents believe meaningful and lasting community change always originates within the communities themselves, and that local residents are best positioned to know how to activate that change. You’ll find some useful information here on what ABCD is, and how it has been deployed to create meaningful change in communities, in Canada and abroad.
